This first photo of the USS Syren, posted here, was taken several weeks after I actually began building her.    It will be a completely "scratch build" project (meaning it is not a commercial kit).  The plans were obtained from a friend, Chuck Passaro,  who actually designs ship model kits for manufacturers to place on the open market.  Chuck won this past year's national competition with his prototype of this model.
